i am home now but over the last 3 days i have receved excellent care after having my gastric bypass on the 3/8/2019 my surgeon mr rishi singhal had a difficult job on his hands after my intestines had become fused together with my other organs mr singhal separated them and the outcome was a successful bypass operation
i can not thank the priory enough for giving me my life back
I had a procedure here in June 2019, and I genuinely enjoyed being there. The staff are lovely and attentive and seem to really enjoy their work.
The hospital itself is very clean, quiet and efficient with booking. I received my confirmation and paperwork about a week prior to my procedure which explained everything quite thoroughly.
Dr Paul Crowe’s team were fantastic, and thank you to Barb and the other nurses for taking care of me on the day.
They also provided fantastic follow up service after the main procedure to make sure I was recovering well (I had commuted from London for the procedure on the day).
Compared to my experience in the public system, this was a day and night contrast. The procedure was far more affordable than London as well.
I stayed in The Priory for 3 nights post op. The care was amazing from start to finish. I was welcomed in reception with so much warmth, and for the 3 nights i stayed, the nurses and doctors looked after me in the highest of standards. Thank you to all the staff who had gone out of their way to make my stay so comfortable.
Dreadful experience, welcomed and shown to my room by very polite pleasant porter . Then ignored for over an hour by nursing staff. Saw my surgeon and was told first on the list , still no nurse even said hello
Eventually the ODP who came to collect me did my surgical check list , waited for me to get changed and put my wrist band on . Post op care was acceptable for a period of time but then felt huge pressure to leave - despite no discharge papers or TTO’s and one attempt to walk resulted in a fainting episode
Several errors on my discharge papers ( written by nurse ) asked for a chair to get me down to car - they did not even try to hold the door for my son and let him struggle . Was disappointed
Good hospital but a little dated and in need of some TLC (appreciating old building)
Staff are great and very friendly
I had an excellent experience as a daycare patient. Many thanks to everyone for making it a comfortable stay - praise to all the staff,
Just had to have a 2 night stay at The Priory , Absolutely fantastic treatment and care from everyone who looked after me . I would highly recommend this hospital without hesitation. Thankyou
Satisfied with the treatment and service I received
I have been diagnosed with my condition twice. I got tired of being tossed around by NHS [scheduled and cancelled my treatment twice, no explanation given] so in desperation I called this clinic to try and get a treatment privately. I have made it clear that I know what's wrong with me and am looking to get treatment on the day. Making an appointment, I understood that I will either pay £250 and walk away with nothing, or £400 and walk away treated. I was willing to take that risk to get rid of this long-term condition.
The appointment was late, so off to a bad start. I paid £250 and explained my condition to the doctor and answered his question about cancer check ['I've had it, I don't have cancer']. I also SPECIFICALLY TOLD HIM that I'm poor and to warn me before doing anything that will raise my bill.
Ignoring that, he asked me later to undress for a procedure. Afterwards he told me that I have this condition and no cancer [information I HAVE GIVEN HIM BEFOREHAND] and that it'll be extra £100. I got angry, but trying to be an adult I bit my tongue and left the hospital peacefully, promising to pay.
That wasn't enough though, as few days later I got an e-mail that the price he told me was wrong and it's actually £185.
At this point I was furious and send them an angry reply, but they didn't get back to me for 9 days! Today I send them yet another e-mail, asking for clarification in price [100 or 185?] and bank details so that I can pay it off and be done with them. It still got worse, somehow, as they seem confused with their own system of splitting the bill into 3 payments, and now it seems I'll be getting £15 back and then another bill for £100?..
Point is, I wanted to pay £400 and walk away cured, and they want more than that for giving me a third diagnosis, which is not what I went there for. A waste of time and money. If you do go there, make sure to ask before every procedure 'WAIT, WILL IT COST ME EXTRA?' and 'WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS FOR?'.
Yes, with capitol leters, otherwise they'll ignore you.
